The Harlem Ramblers Dixieland Jazzband from Zurich, Switzerland was founded in 1955, and, after various changes, settled down in 1969 to a well knit group. The band members in this video were Guenter Sellenath (Tp), Tabis Bachmann (Cl), he died in 1994, Thedy Schuetz (Tb), Chris Mitchell (Bj), Hansjoerg Schaltenbrand (B), and guest drummer Carlo Capello. The band is still going strong with the hard core of Guenter, Thedy, Chris, and Gerry. The newest members are Hans Schlaepfer on Bass since 2002, and since 2005, Wastl Berger, Clarinet and Saxophone. FR-DVD-TUSCAN - The Chianti and Central Tuscany The trip to the Chianti region concludes with a profile of a ceramic artist;a cooking demonstration;a stop at a small farm inn, or agriturismo;a visit to a master shoemaker in Siena;and a tour of a glass studio in Volterra, where the ancient craft of alabaster carving is alive and well. A few more stops in Chianti then into beautiful Siena and the ancient Etruscan city of Volterra. In Lecchi, a ceramic painter demonstrates the colorful technique called maiolica. From there we meet a breeder of the Cinta Senese, a prized Tuscan breed of pig that was praised by the Romans. An innovative chef in Castellina-in-Chianti shows us how to make two of her recipes that mix Tuscan tradition and modern style. In Castelnuovo Berardenga we visit a beautifully restored farmhouse that has a cooking school, yoga classes, and a unique style. Siena is the most beautiful city in Tuscany, and we wander it's atmospheric streets and find a master shoemaker who handcrafts exquisite shoes in the finest traditional way. Outside Siena, the estate of Spannochia keeps alive farming traditions with an innovative intern program and organic methods. In Colle Val D'Elsa, the Vilca workshop maintains the 700-year tradition of hand blown glass. Finally, we visit the stone-walled city of Volterra and see the Etruscan relics in its museum and visit some of the town's alabaster workshops. Undici casolari, undici vigneti, undici espressioni del Sangiovese. Basterebbe questo dato per capire quanto sia affascinante e complesso il mondo del Sangiovese nei 40o ettari di Felsina. Sentiamo Giuseppe raccontarci del come viene gestito questa grande ricchezza espressiva. E che davvero siano 11 vigneti diversi giustifica a pieno l'emozione che proviamo annusando questo incantevole vino che ci affascina immediatamente per il suo carattere toscano, prepotente ma elegante, soffuso ma deciso. Ed ecco insieme la viola, la ciliegia matura, l'humus terroso della Berardenga, la liquirizia e il cuoio del vitigno che si esprime. Una bocca carnosa, scalpitante ma fresca e invitante. Un vino che davvero riassume il carattere del Sangiovese e ne diviene quasi un paradigma. Grande annata questa 2006 ma da sola ovviamente non basterebbe per avere questi risultati se non ci fosse un'attenzione alle esigenze dei vigneti maniacale.
