Marshall Plexi 1987x

www.ProGuitarShop.com- Marshall 1987X Plexi Though the 50 Watt Marshall Plexi 1987X shares the same front and rear panel features as its big brother, the 1959 SLP, it does have its own distinct personality. Sweet warm singing sounds are packed into every nook and cranny of this great tone machine. The main characteristic the 50 watt plexi shares is their simplicity of operation and superb natural valve tone. Achieving the beautifully organic and vibrant overdrive which is their trademark, can only be done in one way - crank 'em up! The result is pure, majestic tone uncluttered by unnecessary circuitry. With solos this produces a big, round, warm, sustain, full of classic character. With chord work you get a bark and percussive attack with a natural sounding break up, which allows each note to ring out in a glorious musical crunch. With the Marshall Plexi 1987XL, you can mix the two channels together by connecting a short, screened patch lead between the second input of Channel 1 and the first input of Channel 2. If you then plug your guitar into the first input of Channel 1, you can mix the different tonal characters of each channel for greater flexibility! As is the case with the 1959SLP, the Plexi 1987X has fittings and hardware as true to the originals as humanly possible, thus ensuring that authentic Marshall 'Vintage' look.

I know it's sloppy. I just wanted to demo this david bray modified 1996 Marshall 1987x plexi, for those who don't know? that means 50 watt, 4 input, 2 volumes, this was recorded with a Gibson Les Paul Standard plugged straight in to the amp.old Marshall 4x12 cab. there has been a master volume pot installed in one of the spkr jacks and both volumes jumped internally, awesome tone! sorry for the sound this was recorded on a cheap digital camera, I love this amp! p.s. the head on the bottom is a 1977 2203 JMP

See if you like this. PLEASE NOTE: This is rather in depth stuff directed at those whom are interested in such things, and I will talk for a while here. If you have a tendency to get bored listening to me, be advised: THIS IS NOT FOR YOU. Thank you, SD PS This - again - is David Bray's site: http://www.davidbrayamps.com/ Please be advised that I don't get anything for advertising David. I just like this amp and how he modded it. Naturally - and I am aware of it - there are also other very talented modders around.

AC/DC "Rocker" (Studio)

Well, it's been a while I haven't showed you any more AC/DC, has it. Quickly served. This has been requested at various stages. Here it is. If you see a request you have made that is still not done, please be patient. I will *try* and make everyone happy, in time. From now on, I'll be using (especially for AC/DC) my Marshall 1987x (used in this video) or Marshall JTM45. I have had them heavily modified (for the better), by David Bray at http://www.davidbrayamps.com/ David is, simply put, a great guy, both as a person and as a professional. I asked him to tune this amp for a wide variety of sounds, with a strict specificity on AC/DC's tone. He did. I will soon be showing some features of these great amps. PLEASE NOTE: Regarding the accuracy of this one, a kind friend made me notice that - at least in the live versions - Angus not going on open D, but he's going on the 5th fret and he's playing the D thing there. I could verify this and it's true. I still do not know whether on the original recording he did it like that or not, but visual evidence is always very important.

My Marshall 1987x mk2 reissue 50w head Guitar used - Tokai Love Rock Amp settings - Presence 0 Bass 10 Mid 10 Treble 1 Power Tap set to 4 (this reduces the gain slightly but does act as a good power break) The Volume/Gain settings are adjusted throughout the video. Audio recorded through an SM57 placed 3 inches away from the cab pointing at the middle of the speaker, into a Focusrite preamp and into Logic 8. Enjoy

-Marshall 1987 -Marshall 1960ax -Gibson flying V -High treble channel at 10 Excuse me for the playing, but this amp has not enough gain and it's hard to play this sort of music with it. I will buy a MXR micro amp pedal for boost the high treble channel.

I play on my Gibson SG61'' and Marshall 1987x

HQ Stereo Link - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vnkuFkcLqpc&fmt=18 Alright, here's the full version of Heartbreaker played to a backing track. This is all Marshall 1987X and the LP standard, no effects (just a little reverb). I play an extended version of the first solo, a little more similar to Jimmy's live versions of Heartbreaker. Enjoy!

Hi everyone, i'm back after after some time. Just got my new Marshall 1987x ri head and 1960TV cab and i'm lovin the pure valve tone! Anyway so i'm improvising over a 'Bleeding Heart' backing track here to show off my new amp. This song is interesting to play to as it's much more down tempo than most of Hendrix's pieces. You really get into it more that way. Thanks for viewing. More to come.

KT 88 in action

this is another demo but "better" recorded clip of the JJ kit KT88 into my marshall 1987x. recorded it on an all padded midium sized room. no effects. the first part is dry. the second half is wet with a tint of slap delay from my mixing software. the vol is cranked to 10. recorded with a shure PG57 into a behringer mic 200 and into my loptop P.S: im not a huge fan of jimi . so dont listen to my playing rather than the tone of the tubes.
