January 9th, 2009 at 14:48:22 the one who is singing with her is her brother ç_ç lucky man...
January 9th, 2009 at 15:11:21 her brother
January 9th, 2009 at 15:34:20 Well, not that bad, she sings well, but he is just not at his place, not enough voice nor personality put on the lyrics.
January 9th, 2009 at 15:57:19 It's not a bad Re-Cover of Nightwish's version but it just doesn't sound the same without Marko on Male Vocals though
January 9th, 2009 at 16:20:18 whos the bloke singing with her?
January 9th, 2009 at 16:43:17 good re-cover of the cover of Nightwish
January 9th, 2009 at 17:06:16 Well, it's certainly good to see that everyone is thoroughly enjoying the video, not taking it too seriously...debating too much, ahhhh, it's good to be alive
January 9th, 2009 at 17:29:15 sin palabras esta mujer es wooow
January 9th, 2009 at 17:52:14 you don't even understand what the term opera means do you? opera: "an extended dramatic composition, in which all parts are sung to instrumental accompaniment, that usually includes arias, choruses, and recitatives, and that sometimes includes ballet." what you're talking about is just classical vocal training, and yes it can combined with other things. opera on the other hand cannot, if you combine opera with what you were talking about it isn't opera anymore
January 9th, 2009 at 18:15:13 but what's wrong with something having opera influence? I find it refreshing and savory :)
January 9th, 2009 at 18:38:12 I'm no stranger to Opera being a music major myself, dating an opera major, and I have an aunt who sang for the Met who crammed opera down my throat (figuratively speaking of course :) ) and I dare say *most* people who are truly devoted to opera would be rather insulted to have Phantom called opera. It's just not. No disrespect intended of course but just because it's got some idioms and themes from opera in there, doesn't make it opera. The same with the other styles you mentioned.
January 9th, 2009 at 19:01:11 CapoFirstFret, there are different forms of opera emerging all the time. Opera refers to a certain type of vocal technique, which I have studied and practice. There is even a genre called "pop opera" now. Opera can be applied to and combined with other genres too, like celtic, rock, musical theater, etc etc etc. It's a musical theater piece with operatic influence, or an opera piece with musical theater influence. Either way I love it and I love Tarja and her brother singing it.
January 9th, 2009 at 19:24:10 Very lovley song indeed ^ ^ the phantoms mask prop wasn't that bad of an idea
January 9th, 2009 at 19:47:09 On her new album she needs to do this song and have her brother do the phantom
January 9th, 2009 at 20:10:08 That is thank you in Finnish
January 9th, 2009 at 20:33:07 Yeah I know.....I wish he wouldn't keep putting it on and taking it off, though.
January 9th, 2009 at 20:56:06 Well they were sort of going with the original song, so they used the phantoms mask prop
January 9th, 2009 at 21:19:05 Having the mask seems incredibly corny to me, but the male singer sounds so good! And Tarja's wonderful as always.
January 9th, 2009 at 21:42:04 Musicals are not "classical" they are modern and pop. Not that they aren't a viable art form, but they are not classical
January 9th, 2009 at 22:05:03 Phantom of the Opera is not opera. It's a Musical set in the musical idiom of opera around a story based on opera. Phantom of the Opera is to Opera as Taco Bell is to real mexican food. It's a great story, and a great piece of musical theater, but not opera.
January 9th, 2009 at 22:28:02 My god! Why are you so discussing about that???? Just let her sing in her concerts whatever she wants!! My god, how childish is that?? Doesn´t matter if she sang it with Nightwish before or whatever. It is her decision alone!
January 9th, 2009 at 22:51:01 It's called opera, dumbass. Just because you don't like it, doesn't make it bad. :|
January 9th, 2009 at 23:14:00 What did she said at the end?
January 10th, 2009 at 23:36:59 Timo turunen and Tarja Turunen!! RoCkz!! great videoo!!
January 10th, 2009 at 23:59:58 Pink floyd? You mad? Phantom of the Opera was first written by Andrew Lloyd Webber, for the musical based on the book with the same name. So it is, in fact, a classical song from the beginning.
