January 7th, 2009 at 23:58:20 DRM sucks.
January 8th, 2009 at 00:21:19 While I don't know anything about DRM on music, the DRM on recent games is complete bullshit. Limited installs, LOSING an install every time you change hardware. It becomes a paperweight. Installing shit into the registry that hides under your nose. My copy of FEAR won't play because "I have more than one disc drive." Anyone who believes that is fair is a fucking moron.
January 8th, 2009 at 00:44:18 I don't know what to think about the DRM, but the video was really good!
January 8th, 2009 at 01:07:17 ummm, "doesn't not" should be "does not". Been staring at code too much the past week. While I'm still here, I have to say I recently learned that Die Warzau -a band whose music I've long enjoyed- may be having financial difficulties; perhaps a result of having been a bit too enthusiastic about the uses of the internet to distribute their music. Their long-anticipated release appears to have morphed into a pseudo-greatest hits compilation ... to bring in some money. A shame.
January 8th, 2009 at 01:30:16 "Do you think they need company middleman now when they have Internet?!?" The intarWebz doesn't not solve all business problems. As a content creator, I'm keenly aware of the problems. "Music is not sugar.. you don't need to pay anything to produce music." And sugar grows in the fields, is tended by cheap labor in 3rd world countries, and price controlled. I know. But while *replicating* music may not require resources, creating uses a singular common resource: TIME. Money is just a subset.
January 8th, 2009 at 01:53:15 i am sorry CSVEN but this isn't about the companies, its about the artists and their fans. Do you think they need company middleman now when they have Internet?!? Also, Music is not sugar.. you don't need to pay anything to produce music..just take 2 sticks and start slamming the ground to produce music, and eventually you might have few people that enjoy what you do and offer to pay money for those strange noises coming from you...
January 8th, 2009 at 02:16:14 ...and ultimately, the artist.
January 8th, 2009 at 02:39:13 heh. DRM is going to kill the legitimate user market.
January 8th, 2009 at 03:02:12 You completely miss the point. What if people made decisions based on what they truly Need instead of what they Want? People don't need mp3's, videogames, and movies, yet they don't think twice about acquiring them against a creator's wishes. It's not about whether it's "stealing" something which is intangible. It's about the value we place on the immaterial; and on Time. No one can touch a Financial Derivative, yet it's having tangible affects. No one can touch Honor, yet people die for it.
January 8th, 2009 at 03:25:11 That can end up meaning you never own anything. Sure a roof over you're head is not necessary you can live in a cave with a fire but would you want to do that?
January 8th, 2009 at 03:48:10 I'll make it easy for you: h t t p: //blog. rebang. com/?p=816
January 8th, 2009 at 04:11:09 We could play "What If" games til the cows come home. But I can give you an answer: I'd live like I do already. Search my blog (via my profile) for a post called "Lifestyle Transgrades". It's years old and discusses how I gave away my furniture almost ten years ago. So my answer is: I wouldn't buy furniture. It's not necessary. And if I *wanted* it, I'd wait for the business that doesn't do stupid things like you're suggesting.
January 8th, 2009 at 04:34:08 You completely missed the point. What if every home including trailers had the furniture stipulation then what would you do?
January 8th, 2009 at 04:57:07 You live in a mobile home. Any more nonsense questions?
January 8th, 2009 at 05:20:06 Ok then what if every house in existence has that feature then what do you do?
January 8th, 2009 at 05:43:05 lolz good concept!!!
January 8th, 2009 at 06:06:04 I hate DRM. If it was just in the background, I wouldn't mind. But the Sony XCP Rootkit is a piece of sh!t. I would just download a song with LimeWire, or something.
January 8th, 2009 at 06:29:03 its ironic; DRM is only making the pirates more successful. More people, who normally would be honest, turn to cracked versions of the program, so they don't have to go through the DRM hassle, and now the pirates have more sympathizers.
January 8th, 2009 at 06:52:02 I hope drm dies a quick death, it's already been around for far too long.
January 8th, 2009 at 07:15:01 i like the end

January 8th, 2009 at 08:00:59 in 1958 a little girl was murdered. she was found with many stabs in her. she had words written on her that said emoth termoth. now that you have read the words you will see this little girl in the middle of the night. she will be on your ceiling. the only way to stop it is to repost this comment to 3 more videos
January 8th, 2009 at 08:23:58 awesome vid!! when they first started having drm media files I was furious. The only thing I have that is drm is some ebooks from mobipocket for my palm lifedrive. Each book can have 3 registered users, which wouldnt bother me, except my 3 are already used b/c my desktop pc, my laptop, and my palm. drm blows, if ppl want to pirate stuff, they will, thats the way the world goes, why punish the ppl who actually paid for the product?
January 8th, 2009 at 08:46:57 Im fine with DRM, as long as it works but remains non-intrusive. The fact is, though, that most customer service reports for online music companies (napster, itunes) involve DRM trouble. I too have a had problems with a song I bought. I no longer by any music with drm. Its a shame, because artists get a higher percentage of online sales per song then with a CD.
January 8th, 2009 at 09:09:56 that's Scary... fuck DRM
